Add A Room Without A Building Permit
Traveling in a camper or motor home is great. It’s easy to become isolated when I stay in hotels all the time, but campgrounds actually encourage meeting people and making new friends. On the other hand, while motor homes are far better than tents and even some motel rooms when it comes to space and privacy, it can still be fairly easy to feel like we’re all living in each other’s pockets. This is why I’m a big fan of add-a-room features.
It’s true that add-a-rooms don’t provide the same level of privacy and protection from the elements as a camper’s walls do, but they do add considerable space and come in a range of sizes depending on need and the size of the vehicle they’re being attached to. They have privacy panels so that we can sleep in them in good weather and they also make a great dining room. With the addition of attractive, easily cleaned outdoor mats or rugs, a folding table, and a few chairs, I have a place suitable for new or old friends.
With all the options that exist for patio accessories, I’ve realized that not only can I make my home patio brighter and more colorful with an array of bright lights, but that there are similar home patio products that can be taken on trips. I love battery-powered lanterns for a number of reasons, but I’m thrilled that I can hang up decorative lights and similar patio accessories both in my home and my home-away-from-home to make it a more attractive and inviting place. Even if I’m not inviting friends over for dinner in my add-a-room, it brightens the atmosphere for my family.
