When I was young and actually had time to lie around outside, outdoor recliners meant either plastic that I stuck to and that left attractive stripes along my back and legs, or rough, almost-fabric strips that left a different pattern and itched. Thanks to modern-day innovations in plastics, canvas, and a myriad other materials, on those rare occasions when I get the yard work done while it’s still light out, I have an outdoor lounge where I can recline in comfort and stand up without bringing the chair with me.
I really love the innovations in folding recliners. They cost a little more than the hard plastic chairs I can buy outside the grocery store, but they also don’t suddenly fall apart after a few uses or if a friend has eaten too much at a party. In fact, these outdoor recliners and outdoor lounges come in such a wide variety of sizes, shapes, and colors that pretty much every body size and decorating taste can be satisfied.
It’s true that an outdoor lounge doesn’t have to be fashionable or attractive, and the backyard color scheme is a lot more varied – largely green, but accented by trees and whatever’s blooming – than my living room, but that doesn’t mean they have to be ugly. And we all have those friends who will feel obligated to comment if the outdoor chair and recliner aren’t an obvious set. I don’t buy furniture just to suit their tastes, but it’s nice that my burnt sienna set can meet all decorating requirements.
The best thing about being fashionable and comfortable in the outside is that these outdoor chairs are nearly as easy to clean as their hard plastic counter-parts, and far easier to put away to store when they’re dry.
